Inverters

The listing request forms used to request listing of Inverters to the Energy Commission's Solar Equipment Lists have been updated. The List of Inverters have been separated into two lists: Grid Support Inverter List and Utility Interactive Inverter List. The Grid Support Inverter List includes information on Functions 5 & 6 of Phase III of California Electric Rule 21 Smart Inverter Requirements. The multiple listing and ACPV instructions have also been updated. The updated forms and associated instructions can be accessed below.

The updated request forms must be used for any listing request submitted on or after February 1, 2019. Prior to February 1, 2019, manufacturers may continue to use the previous version of the forms or this updated version of the forms.

Please note that the Energy Commission's Solar Equipment Lists updates are typically completed twice a month, on the 1st business day of the month and the 15th of the month or the following business day.

List of Inverters

Effective January 15, 2019, the List of Inverters have been separated into two lists: Grid Support Inverter List and Utility Interactive Inverter List. Additional information has been added to the Grid Support Inverter List that includes information on Functions 5 & 6 of Phase III of California Electric Rule 21 Smart Inverter Requirements.

There are two versions of the list of inverters that are available for download - Simplified and Full Data. The Simplified version is intended to show only basic information about the inverters such as manufacturer, model number, description, and weighted efficiency. The Full Data version contains additional information such as certification dates, reported nameplate ratings and efficiency measurements that may be of interest to stakeholders.

(The utility interactive inverter list will be updated until January 2020, at which time the list will be archived.)

Submitted information is reviewed by the California Energy Commission prior to equipment being added to the Energy Commission's Solar Equipment Lists but it is not continuously monitored. The California Energy Commission does not confirm manufacturers' self-reported information. Please note that equipment on the Energy Commission's Solar Equipment Lists have undergone tests to achieve minimal safety and performance standards. The California Energy Commission and the State of California make no claim or warranty on the equipment and its safety, performance or durability. Anyone considering installing solar energy systems are encouraged to conduct their own research.
