The CSI Program Forum provides a venue for stakeholders to identify and discuss top—priority issues related to the administration and implementation of the CSI program and to suggest consensus based revisions to the CSI Program Handbook. CSI Program Forums are held quarterly and hosted in turns by the three statewide Program Administrators as a supplement to the PUC decision making process. Topics will be presented for discussion with time at the end of each session for Q&A. Participants in both the CSI and the CSI—Thermal program are encouraged to attend.

In this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of solar electricity and the current incentives that are offered through the California Solar Initiative (CSI) program.  We will explain how to calculate your energy use and properly size a solar system for your home, as well as how to find and research solar contractors.  The more you know, the better prepared you will be when choosing a contractor that is right for you!

Please note that this event is for homeowners. If you are a solar contractor, please attend the workshops offered for contractors.

Wednesday, June 13th, 2012 - CSI—Thermal Contractor and Self—Installer Training

This CSI Thermal Workshop is a required introductory course for contractors, self—installers and applicants interested in participating in the CSI Thermal Program — see Eligibility section below for more information. The class is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the program, its requirements and the application process. We will also provide an overview of solar water heating technologies. The agenda is to be determined and will be posted at a later date.

Please note: This is not an instructional class on how to install solar water heating systems.

Eligibility

Completion of this course by the contractor license owner as listed with the California State License Board (CSLB) is mandatory to participate in the CSI—Thermal Program. This will satisfy the requirement for the entire company to be eligible as a contractor or to fill out the application. Attendance by all other company employees is optional, but is strongly recommended for installers and other personnel involved in the application process. Installation contractors must have an active A, B, C—4, C—36 or C—46 license.
